In association with “Constantin Brancoveanu” School in Slatina we have managed to create a multifunctional education center from October 2008.
Goal of the project:
To improve educational conditions for children with special educational needs (SEN) in order to prevent school failure and abandon by creating a multifunctional educative center.
Specific objectives of the project:
- watching and supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN) in their learning process by implementation of a program for homeworks, tutoring, differential education;
- socialization, social learning, integration of isolated children and subject to poverty, absence of parents that are left abroad for work and children with SEN;
- to diminish the risk of school failure/abandon, social exclusion and marginalization by assuring real chances to education for all the children;
- to reestablish biological and emotional balance of disfavored children using social services, watching, counseling, individual creativity, recreative activities;
- to develop physic, psychic and social capabilities by offering alternatives to spend spare time;
- to educate talents and artistic aptitudes;
- to improve child’s family problems by cooperation of school with organizations and specialized institutions from local community;
- to develop parental abilities;
- to stimulate members of local communities in order to take part in social services.
Persons involved:
- 2 psychologists
- 1 librarian
- 10 voluntaries pupils (voluntaries, grades VII-VIII)
- 1 school physician
- 5 educators and 5 teachers (voluntaries)
Beneficiaries:
50 children with specific educational needs.
